Laura Nelson
Piano, Violin, Guitar - Classical/Folk/Celtic
Laura grew up in a musical family in Philadelphia where appreciation for music and dedication to practicing instruments were considered family values. Laura has been teaching individual and group lessons for over 20 years , and is an experienced performer playing solo and with a wide array of chamber groups, orchestras and bands.
“My true passion is teaching children of all ages! Adults included! Trained in suzuki method, I also draw from other traditional teaching methods to meet each student where they are, and support their individual learning style , emphasizing mindful practice, musical storytelling, and a supportive atmosphere where mistakes are part of learning. I help each of my students find their own voice through music by balancing solid technique with creativity and joy. I value the impact of being surrounded by a community of musicians and supportive family members. One of the reasons I provide recitals for my students, is to allow them to take risks and share their skills. My goal for all my students is the same: to develop a lifelong love and skillset for music by supporting their growth in listening to it, reading it, and expressing it”

Josh Jenkins
Guitar/Mandolin/Ukulele
Josh Jenkins has been studying, performing and recording various stringed instruments for over 25 years and has been teaching for more than a decade. He is also one of Santa Barbara's premier guitar technicians. Not only can he fix your instrument...he can teach you how to play it too!
With an eclectic background in jazz, rock, folk, world music and theatre, Joshua has developed a passion for the diverse language that is music. He teaches all levels from beginner to advanced, with a special interest in improvisation.
"I believe that it is everyone's right as a human being to be able to express themselves through a creative medium...whether that be music, art, dance or any number of disciplines.
